In the sidebar I added some information about the Downtown Knit Collective’s Knitter’s Frolic. This year it takes place in May. If you’re in the Toronto area and even if you’re not, it’s totally worth the trip. In addition to the best selection of yarn in town, the Frolic also offers classes on Saturday, May 8th and Sunday, May 9th. You can dowload the PDF flyer/registration form for details. Teachers include Fiona Ellis, Wannietta Prescod, Veronik Avery, Kate Atherley and more! See you there.

A friend of mine and her business partners have opened up the most wonderful shop you could imagine. If you’re anywhere near Leonia, NJ, you need to check out The Craft Lounge. It’s exactly as it sounds: a place to craft, a place to sit and knit, a place to take classes, and they will even bring their shop to you…they offer classes and supplies to you and your guests…in your home! They also sell beautiful artisan, handmade things. Please check them out! You can see some photos here, taken by Freakgirl (including the one above) at the shop’s grand opening. You might recognize my yarn in one of the photos!

My favourites? BYOB [bring your own bag], and two pairs of socks – Muscari and Spring Forward. I think I’ll be casting on for Spring Forward first, and I know I’ll use the Bamboo, just not sure which colour!

D is for dyeing, which is now such a huge part of my life.
D is for drum carder, almost permanently attached to my kitchen table.

D is also for Downtown Knit Collective, which is Toronto’s knitting guild and they’re hosting an annual event at the end of April called the Knitter’s Frolic. Tons of vendors will gather at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre on Saturday, April 26th, selling their wonderful wares, and this year, that vendor lineup includes ME! I’m so excited to be there. This will be my first sales event and I’m very nervous and kind of scared. I hope if you’re local or planning to be in Toronto that weekend, that you’ll come and say hi! Admission is $5 and well worth it…there’s just so much going on – take a look.
So that’s the reason I haven’t had a shop update in a little while…I’ve been building up some stock but I didn’t want to say anything until I knew for sure I was accepted to participate in the event. Crazy!
