Finally, Some Breeze
It’s going to sound like nothing makes me happy, but I have a bone to pick with this summer. The first half of summer did nothing but rain. The second half of the summer so far has been ridiculously hot and humid. Today we’ve got a bit of a breeze and I can sit outside without sweating, which is nice. Shortly I’m going to go inside and dye yarn, which will immediately turn my house into a sauna.
Jeremy has been working a lot lately, to the degree that we have only an hour or two each evening to spend relaxing. He’s been putting in full days at his storyboarding gig and weekends at the retail job. I cannot wait until that’s over.
Nothing much has been going on around here except for work. I really wanted to spend at least one day at the beach but we haven’t had a chance to do that yet. We did make it to the drive-in to see District 9 (highly recommend) and today my sister is taking Alex to see Harry Potter. Otherwise, the summer’s been kind of a wash. We’re looking forward to taking a little holiday to New Jersey this fall, once the work is done. Watch out, because my hair will be COMING DOWN.

YAY! I just wondered aloud to my sister this week if you guys would be coming for a visit soon. I don’t know how long you’ll be here, but maybe you & Freakgirl could make a trip down to the shop again? We have so much new stuff — the place is packed! Also, now we’ve got drop-in crafts. We could make Shrinky Dink stitch markers or something.
BTW, I’m knitting with your fingering sock and it’s GORGE. No surprise, but still.
We’ll definitely come to the shop, with another detour at Sweet Avenue cupcakes, too! It will be nice for my friends to come visit when it’s not 20 below outside.
Ooh, Shrinky Dinks! I definitely want to come hang out at the shop. I’m hoping to drag my sister with us, and I know she’d really enjoy the shop (and the cupcakes!).
Yes, this so-called summer has been total bullshit. I don’t care if it’s cool so long as it is sunny. Instead we’ve either had rainy or muggy, or BOTH. No thank you. I am looking forward to Autumn, now.
I don’t know what Shrinky Dinks are but that, along with fingering and GORGE, has made me feel dirty.
